Repairs & Modifications:

It is an unfortunate fact of life that guitars get dinged, whacked, cracked, broken, mangled, and trashed on a regular basis.  It's a shame, but it happens.  When it does, you want to send your stuff to someone who knows exactly what they're doing, and will do everything right.  So let me tell you exactly what to do when it happens:

Take your stuff to a pro repair person you trust implicitly.

If you don’t know one, ask another player you trust,

and take your stuff to their person.

Don’t experiment on repairs with your beloved axes…

I feel strongly that a player/owner should get the best help they can when something's wrong, or even if they just want a real professional mod job.  Also, know this; probably as much or more damage gets done to guitars through botched repairs as anything else – Caveat emptor!

I am more than happy to take on repairs and modifications, but be forewarned - I don’t do everything when it comes to repair work – I do what I am comfortable doing and do well – If your issue isn’t among those things, I will send you to someone who does:  If there's something you'd like me to look at for you, call, or email and we'll talk about it.  See blow for a list of common repairs and prices.

If you are local, and you want the best repair facility around, hands down and bar none; take your stuff to Lamb's Music in Fort Worth!  Steve and his wonderful family, (Nancy, Nathan, and Stephen) are true, caring  professionals with decades of experience between them.  They're also a factory-authorized Warranty service and repair center for Fender, Squire, Gibson, Guild, De Armond, Gretsch, Ibanez, Warwick, Taylor, B. C. Rich, Jackson, and Rains, and probably some others I've missed.  They also sell vintage and used stuff, and give all kinds of lessons, from guitar, to pedal steel, to drums, to music theory, and the whole staff is wonderful.

FRET LEVELING - (AKA Filing, Dressing, etc...) - $100.00 and up. Worn or uneven frets can he filed level in many cases, if there's enough meat left on the existing frets:  Frets must be lowered to the height of the lowest pit that can be found, so...  Sometimes, replacing the most worn frets is appropriate, but know that I am VERY adverse to performing partial refrets! INSTALL ACOUSTIC PICK UP - $100.00 - 250.00, depending on pickup, (This price range is for B-Band equipment and includes the price of the pickup!).  Expand endpin hole to accommodate jack.  Wire pickup to pre-amp and jack.  Fit and re-size old saddle for proper action and contact with pickup.  May require new saddle and re-rout of saddle slot, (Yes, that costs more - by quote!). There are other variables relating to pre-amps which must be individually quoted.  Condition of bridge and neck angle may be factors in the appropriateness of an under the saddle pickup.

REPLACE TUNERS - $50 and up, by quote.
