Ordering & Pricing

Folks always ask, "What do we do first?"  And the magic answer is...  Let's talk!  That's the best way to determine if you really want me to build you an axe, frankly.  I want to know what you play, how you play it, and what your needs and wants in a new guitar are.  I like to know what axes you've had or have that you love, or maybe didn't like so much, and why.  And of course, if you have particulars you’re after - Body size and shape, scale length, nut & 12th fret width, neck profile, string spacing, stuff like that, we'll talk about those as well.  I don’t have a big list of upgrades or add-ons because of the collaborative way I build.  If you have something mind, let's discuss it; if I can, I will, and if I can't or won't I'll tell you that straight out!

The Base Price for my acoustic guitars is $1,750:  Electrics are priced per guitar as we spec out what you want and need; they also should generally fall in around that magic number.

I am currently accepting orders for guitars that will be built in 2010.

If you decide you want me to build you one, then 50% is due upon us agreeing to build, and the other 50% is due right before I ship the guitar to you.

A very decent hard shell case is included in the base price.  Case upgrades are available to you at my cost, so just ask if you want something different.

For electronics on acoustics, I deal and endorse B-Band equipment, which I consider about as good a sound as I've ever heard.  They make a wide variety of options and sounds which should meet your needs.  If you need something specific other than that, let’s discuss it.  I get very good pricing for B-Band, and will certainly pass that savings on to you.

My go-to pickups for electrics are Carvin, (As in, that's what I use if you don't specify!), they are very, very good pickups, surprisingly so, in fact!  Nonetheless, if you want something else, don't worry, I can get it for a good price and we can put it in your guitar, no problem!  Standard electronics in my electrics are all top quality, U.S. made pots, switches, and wire - No grade Z junk here.

Finally, my Warranty is pretty straightforward.  It explains what's covered and what isn't, as well as how the inspection, approval, and return process works.

Warrantee Information

When your new guitar arrives, you have fourteen days to play it, feel it out, examine it thoroughly, be sure you're happy with it.  If after that time you're happy, then we're good to go!  If for some reason you're dissatisfied with your guitar, then we need to talk and find out what the problem is:  If it's changeable/fixable/tweakable, then we'll do that with the aim in sight of making sure you get what you paid for and are happy with it:  If you just can't stand the thing, you can return it to me in the condition you received it in.  You'll have to pay \shipping, handling, and insurance costs for that return, and the insured value must equal the instrument's cost.  I'll give you a refund, less shipping, handling, non-refundable deposits, and any and all costs of returning the guitar to new condition, (If there are any), when the guitar is resold at a commensurate price. I certainly will do everything I can to re-sell a returned guitar, and to do so quickly, but there is no guarantee of such.

All Aerie guitars are warranted to be well built with quality materials and in great working order when they leave my shop.   I no longer specify a period for which my guitars will be "Guaranteed," and if you think about it, it's kind of crazy to try.  You and I both know what guitars go through, what people and environments can do to them.  The bottom line is this:  As long as I am around and reachable, if something goes wrong with your guitar then I'll take it back in and fix it for you.  If what's wrong is my fault, (As in, having to do with my work in building it or the materials I used), there won't be any charge for repairs.  If what's wrong is your fault, then my standard charges for repairs will apply; check out the Repairs and Mods page to see what that kind of work costs when I do it.  If you choose to have the instrument repaired or modified by somebody else, then you’re on your own for whatever you choose to do; in other words, I won’t pay somebody else to diagnose, fix, or modify a guitar I made.

What the Warranty won't cover:
Modifications, alterations, or repairs to the guitar done by somebody other than me.  Damage caused by misuse, negligence, or accident, including damage caused by environment; normal wear and tear, including changes in tonal characteristics, worn frets and fretboard, tuning machines, and finish.
